I have to say I disagree with a lot of the points made here. After an hour or two of frustration, it's starting to become an incredibly fluid, addictive game with a lot of hidden depth. I, too, mistook it for little more than an expensive phone game when I first loaded it up, but by the simple virtue of having an analogue stick and a well executed combo system it becomes so much more than that. Getting a decent score on a spot challenge because you somehow pulled off a perfect x40 combo is incredibly satisfying, and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of what's achievable.
It's rapidly endangering Spelunky's position as my go-to Vita game at the moment.
(Also, no comments in a week?! On a Sterling review? What's going on?)
