So many developers to choose from and so many good ones too :T

Ugh...what's the point anymore

I don't know if everyone is terrible at reading instructions or if DOTA2 is THAT spectacular of a game but every year, Valve seems to kick the hell out of the board because they're Valve.

I hope I'm wrong but if the early polls are any indication, this is going to be another one of THOSE years...

Why isn't that listed on the voting sheets? We ARE supposed to be voting for who did the best year to year, correct? Maybe that's why Valve keeps slaughtering; people who haven't been around don't realize that it's supposed to be year to year, NOT overall.

Or am I mistaken in that?

It doesn't surprise me, the people here are more PC centric, hardly give a toss about consoles but are more inclined to loving everything Valve touches, thus the vote is the same every year and nothing changes, same proclaimed love, same shitting on the losers.

Only difference this time is now TellTale on the other poll is going to win this by a landslide because most here love the hell out The Walking dead game and nothing else apparently compares, not even the other choices that deserve just as much a chance but "lol TT games ftw" as it'l go.

Why would the Escapist show this info, if they wanted voters to ignore the games they've developed in previous years?

Good point, but the developers are qualified to enter the competition only if they released a game that year; therefore the game that dev released that year should be the most important factor in deciding the winner.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of the massive AAA developers go up against some very talented Indies. Just look at the success of Papers Please, who mopped the floor against some pretty formidable opponents.

It'll get interesting (it always is ). Valve will wipe the floor against everyone it faces until a later round. The backlash will then occur and people will fight tooth and nail to get Valve taken out (hopefully WITHOUT recruiting 4Chan this time...so much porn....the horror.....the horror....). In the words of the greatest actor known to man:

It's interesting that youve split this into the arbitrary definitions of AAA Developers and Indies.

Although I do love me some Valve games (Woo TF2) I'm really hoping we'll have someone from out of left field like Mojang or Papers Please to give them at least a decent run for their money here.
