It is certainly Tingler inspired! Nice observation.
Who couldn't love a movie where Vincent Price shoots up a horse syringe's worth of LSD.
These are more like gut tinglers rather than spine tinglers.

Creepy stuff Nick. I think you should try expanding your strip a bit--get outside of your comfort range. This comic could have illicited gag reflexes had the first panel been an animated gif with a wiggly worm. Give it some thought.
