Two Descent: Journeys in the Dark Expansions Coming Q3 2014

Manor of Ravens and Skarn Lieutenant Pack coming to Descent: Journeys in the Dark in the third quarter of 2014.

Two new expansions are coming to tabletop dungeon crawler Descent: Journeys in the Dark. Fantasy Flight Games plans on releasing Manor of Ravens and Skarn Lieutenant Pack in the third quarter of 2014.

Boxed set Manor of Ravens introduces six new quests and 16 double-sided map tiles, as well as new monsters, hero classes, mechanics, and more. The adventure sees the heroes travel to an abandoned manor to destroy the guardian within. The standalone Skarn Lieutenant Pack takes a character introduced in Manor of Ravens, a magical construct composed of pieces of the manor house, and gives it a ten-card Plot deck and its own mini.

Descent: Journeys in the Dark is a two-to-five player high fantasy dungeon crawler first published in 2005, with the second edition released in 2012. One player takes on the role of the Overlord (I'm sure Fantasy Flight Games wouldn't blame us for accidentally referring to it as the Dungeon Master) and provides enemies and challenges for the players to overcome. The key distinction here is that the Overlord's goal is to defeat the players, whereas in Dungeons & Dragons, that's not the Dungeon Master's intended goal - though some play experiences may suggest otherwise...

Bah, I'm sorry but I can't read this article anymore. Realizing it did not refer to a new Descent-title shook me too much. Maybe when I've calmed down a bit from the excitement and then disappointment, I'll be able to read on and comment more appropriately then.

Looks good : ) Gaming unplugged for sure. I like to collect different games especially ones from FFG. I enjoy having them as a collector but also to keep on hand when that dramatic event happens every so often: No internet! Gah!
