The Incredibles 2 Will Include Frozone, Samuel L. Jackson Suggests

Samuel Jackson, voice of The Incredibles' Frozone, would love to reprise the role in the upcoming sequel.

Following the news of Disney's planned sequel to the 2004 hit The Incredibles [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133043-Disney-Announces-The-Incredibles-2-and-Cars-3], Samuel L. Jackson teased the return of minor, but well-loved, character Frozone. Jackson would reprise his role as the superhero and old friend of Mr. Incredible.

"Every time I run into Brad [Bird, The Incredibles 2 director], he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on, so I have to believe that," Jackson said.

Frozone is the superhero alter ego of Lucius Best, good friend of the Incredibles family. He can freeze water and moisture in the air to manipulate ice. As a side character he had no large parts in the first Incredibles movie, but he comes to his friends' aid in the end (after finding his misplaced supersuit).

"I guess they could be the Incredibles without Frozone," Jackson said, "but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there."

Jackson noted that he's most excited about the growth of Jack-Jack, who was merely a toddler in The Incredibles.

If Frozone is a part of The Incredibles 2, he would likely be in it as a minor character again. However, his inclusion would be well worth it if there's another scene like "Where is my supersuit?" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2qRDMHbXaM] from the first.

Pixar is not producing any films for theatrical release this year. Next year it will release Inside Out, and 2016 will see Finding Nemo sequel, Finding Dory. The Incredibles 2 will likely come out after this time. Disney and Pixar are also working on Cars 3.

Frozone is an awesome character, I really hope he plays a bigger part in the second movie, or even has a kid or two of his own to show off in the superhero scene

If there is no Frozone in the Inceredibles 2 then I would be very disappointed in both Disney and Pixar. I loved the few moments Frozone was in when it came to the first movie and always wished he had more screen time. Hopefully they do put Frozone in along with Samuel Jackson because without those two the movie would feel weird.

I had no idea this was happening. Incredibles was the only Pixar movie I felt warranted a sequel and I was disappointed that it seemed like the only one they wouldn't make one for. Good to know they proved me wrong.

Well they finally threw Ellen a bone after she, presumably, annoyed them for 8 years to make another Finding Nemo. So I think they'll throw Sam on as well.

The great thing about Frozone in the first movie was that even though he never played a big role, the fact that he was still there and fleshed out gave me the sense that the world of the film was authentic, and that the characters existed outside their prescribed roles. He wasn't just a one note running gag like many minor characters in animated films, he felt real enough that you could imagine a movie just about him, and yet he wasn't overused. If this were DreamWorks there'd probably already be 2 Frozone movies in addition to 3 Incredibles sequels. Let us hope Pixar doesn't go down that route.

Seeing as he did have the best scene in the entire movie, as well as the best line "YOU TELL ME WHERE MY SUIT IS, WOMAN!" I'm positive he'll be in it. Now, I don't want him to be the main focus because I'm afraid they would try too hard with his character and thus he would lose some of that charm.

Cars 3? Really? Okay, I liked Cars. I liked Cars 2 even better (yes, I know), but enough is enough. At least they're not making another Planes movie. Oh wait. Yes they are. And wouldn't you know it, it's the exact same plot. Dusty doesn't want to be this anymore, he wants to be that!
