The Tron Sequel Trailer Makes Me Happy

It's new to me and it's really cool so for the benefit of those who missed it, here's a link to the hot-and-sexy TR2N trailer that's sure to elicit spasms of gleeful anticipation.

The trailer actually premiered at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con [http://www.comic-con.org/cci/], where by all reports (and to no-one's surprise) it received a very positive reception. The video of the Tr2n trailer available to those of us who were unable to attend is, sadly, small, shaky and hard to hear. It's also cool as hell.

Little is known about the sequel, but Karl Urban [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1104001/] are rumored to be involved. The site describes the plot as, "A virtual-world worker looks to take down the Master Control Program," but details are non-existent. The movie is currently targeted for release in 2011.

And now, the obligatory history lesson. In 1982, Tron 2.0 Killer App [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084827/] for the Gameboy Advance.

Watch it here [http://gizmodo.com/5029479/tron-2-trailer-video-makes-pants-wet-worldwide]!

Just Light Cycles, but as far as games go, that's where it's at.

Wait, is it a remake or sequel? My impression was the latter.

Either way, count me in. In like Flynn, you might say.

(you may all groan at the horrible pun now.)

That looks positively aweso-

Wait....light cycles arn't supposed to be able to swerve! THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO SUCK!!

But seriously, it does look awesome. I saw the original tron and I loved it, save for the stupid ending (the one I saw anyway, unless it was a shorthand version).

One things for sure, that has got to be the crappiest bootleg I've ever seen.

Actually I'd say that lightcycles swerving make sense since it'd be a more modern computer, and thus we are allowed more degrees than the four cardinal directions

but eh, nitpicking really

Hmm... it looks good, but I have to wonder if it's really necessary.
For me, some of the charm was the subpar graphics. Was? Were?

They were positively jaw-dropping at the time, I assure you. Some of the first computer-generated special effects ever on film.

I understand that, but watching it now it's like Steamboat Willy, or that painting of an 1890 Boston street with *gasp* gas powered lamps!
