Yeah, I can't wait for them to complain about poor sales after putting the game release months after the other platforms.

If the game sells poorly but the game is known to be good it's not the fault of the game creators.

There have been many examples where games sell much better on a different platform after a year of being an exclusive title or just not being available for the console in question.

Remember, the PS2 version of Resident Evil 4 handedly outsold the Gamecube version. By a large margin. Tales of Graces sold 4 times as much on the PS3 compare to the Wii version and was released a year after.

If Watch Dogs sells poorly on the Wii U it'll be just another justification for 3rd party developers to not put of games on Nintendo's home console.

This isn't a new problem for Nintendo.

Better late than never but...why? Maybe this is going to be another example of the Wii U version shipping with some early/insubstantial DLC on-disc then being ignored DLC-wise for the rest of its shelf life. On the one hand, I guess gamepad integration could be to blame for such an extended amount of development time but on the other hand, this version just isn't going to sell considering every other console will have had it for three to six extra months.

And the true reason for the graphical downgrade is revealed.... J/k

Good news for the Wii-U gives games on that system something to do while waiting for Mario part 18: Bowsers revengeance, Mario part 19 Peaches lament, Mario part 20: Toads bad day....j/k again sorry cant help it.

Good news about The PC version not needing Uplay beyond the first start-up.

Well, i can totally understand this decision. I mean, Mario Kart is going to be released on may 30th. The other platforms don't really have any big releases at the time and competing for sales with Mario Kart is well... just as dumb as Nintendo's decision to release Wonderful 101 at the same time as GTA. I think this will actually increase the sales on the Wii U, if it even matters, it will probably sell poorly...

Yeah, you'll get that. The thing I've never gotten about that is you'd think 3rd parties would realize that a lot of the reasons their titles keep selling badly is because they keep making such obvious mistakes. The obliviousness is just baffling. You'd think people in charge of companies worth hundreds of millions if not BILLIONS of dollars would be more knowledgeable about this sort of stuff.

They fucking killed the game on the Wii U. Fall? FALL?! Are you serious?! You have most of Nintendo- and to extension- the rest of the AAA companies putting out their best damn game on during that time. And believe me the overall hype for this game has plummeted on practically all systems.

Watch Dogs will now be competing with the Wii U version of SSB. I say that because quite a few people have stated they will save up so they can purchase a Wii U along with SSB. Watchdogs is not on their radar.

They KNOW there will be a drought for Wii U owners in the summer. Why not release the game then? It's guaranteed to sell more in that period than fucking fall.

Third parties sure as hell love their wish fufillments.

But it is the fault of the publishers. Watch Dogs already lost a lot of steam with their delays. If the game turns out sub par on other consoles, it sure as hell is dead on the Wii U. Especially when a certain game is just on the horizon.

There have been many examples where games sell much better on a different platform after a year of being an exclusive title or just not being available for the console in question.
We are no longer in the console generations where sleeper hits are considered a success (unless you count Tomb Raider, but Ubisoft called it a failure for months before admitting it didn't do that bad.)

If it's not selling gangbusters in 2 weeks it's a dunce.

If Watch Dogs sells poorly on the Wii U it'll be just another justification for 3rd party developers to not put of games on Nintendo's home console.

A justification that they set up themselves. They know damn fucking well that Fall is a poor time to release the damn game. It's the ultimate expression of wish fulfillment. Complain that games can't sell on the Wii U. But release those games at piss poor times of the year when they are not only in direct competition with other competitors games, but also Nintendo's own first party line up. As we all know, you don't compete with the release dates of Nintendo games. Unless your CoD it's a game sale suicide.

See, you get it. Why doesn't Ubisoft? It's like all the big multiplat developers just got together and agreed f--- Nintendo. And because they said it, by the gods, they are determined to make it happen (if only they kept their word like that on other things). It's really astonishing. Given the choice between SSB and Watchdogs, I would be kicking Megaman's shiny blue kiester with Little Mac on launch day (I love Megaman, I'm just excited about the possibility of this match up WEEEE!).

I'm not sold on the game anyway - no matter what systems it is on or when the release is. I'm pretty worried about it being a rapid release franchise with no end in sight and no sense of closure so... Ubisoft, just what are you thinking about anything, ever? Is forcibly proving yourself right worth it?

And lets predict the fall news:
Mario Kart 8 and SSBU sold extremely well, Watch Dogs WiiU, a objectively bad port with missing features and no DLC is considered a failure and Ubisoft blames it on Nintendo fans for only buying Nintendo games.
This news have been brought to you by Captain Obvious.

I hope I'm wrong, but this was the case for pretty much every port the WiiU got so I don't see Ubisoft putting more work in the WiiU version this time around.

That is the thing; the "problem" of 3rd party titles not selling on Nintendo systems is not Nintendo's fault in the least, it's the fault of 3rd parties. If they can't yank people away from Mario, Smash Bros, Zelda, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Donkey Kong, etc then that's just a sign that their efforts just aren't up to snuff in one way or another. Have the last two decades of complacency really withered these devs'/pubs' ability to understand that? If you want results you have to put forth EFFORT. It seems to me that 3rd parties want things handed to them on a silver platter and they're getting pissy that they actually have to put WORK in.

The delays for the game were bad enough for the IP all together. The literal worse thing that could happen is that the game is ACTUALLY GOOD on the Wii U, and nobody buys it because it's Fall and there are bigger, better, and more hyped games to buy on the Wii U and other systems during that time.

Then you will have Ubi saying the same shit of "third party don't sell on Nintendo consoles" when those clowns fucking knew Watchdogs doesn't carry a fucking candle to Nintendo IP's in terms of demand and they were in direct competition with their release and sales.

Summer is looking to be another fucking Wii U drought. Owners would be dying to get their hands on a game for that system. Like I said, same shit they pulled with Rayman.

Though with Rayman they delayed it because they thought they could get some extra scratch by porting it to the PS3 and 360. And that didn't really work out. I don't know whether it's that these guys know and don't care or because they're just that freaking dumb.

Seeing as porting it to the PS3 and X360 tripled the sales of the game, I would say that it kinda did work out?

Well that's cool, of course I will predict bad sales for it. We live in a world were people are convinced that Titanfall is an Xbox One exclusive so I doubt people will even know of the Wii U port, especially a delayed one.

100% agree. I mean I know Nintendo isn't blameless, in that they made mistakes in the courting of third parties to the Wii U and in marketing/promotion of the console (thank goodness for companies like Atlus and Xseed though). But ultimately it is the responsibility of the publisher to ensure its content moves regardless of the platform. On this platform they are inexplicably ensuring the opposite. I imagine them being controlled by corporate hacks and accountants that only know how to communicate in graphs and buzz-word business speak, knowing and caring nothing about their employees and the games they make, the competion, or gaming culture in general, beyond short-term high-volume profit and their own egos.

That's the most tragic part of all of this. The dev team behind Rayman absolutely DID NOT want the game to be pushed back, but the publisher forced them too.

I have a feeling they did put a lot of work into the Gamepad gameplay, but when did suits care about the effort, and time the creative team puts in a game. All so they can release another "Wii U blows" headline.
