Fun bit of trivia: This game uses the same engine as Ultima 8: Pagan. Which really goes a long way towards explaining why the jumping is so bad.

I still have the original CD this game came on from back in the day. I played the hell out of it. I knew nothing about the game when I bought it, I was just a fan of Origin Systems and pretty much bought everything of theirs I could. Guess it's time I get the sequel......GoG, here I come.

Played this years ago. Still remember the first time I got access to an energy weapon. Bought it, entered the next level, rolled into the first room with enemies, started blazing away(not realizing that it ran off the same power source as my shields) and promptly died almost immediately. I miss games like that.

Such a nostalgia trip. You just prompted me to dig up the CD... it was in the same pile as Blackthorne and Syndicate Wars... but I can't seem to find my Crusader: No Regret CD. I wonder if I can get it running in linux...

I remember playing both games of the series and loving them, on PC.

The PS1 port was...IDK.
I recall the load times being nuts.
Like...shit...even DNF had shorter load screens.

This is another one of those series that I occasionally find myself wondering "Hey, whatever happened to that?" When No Remorse hit it seemed like a bomb going off and then, even by the time No Regret came out, it seemed almost totally forgotten. It always seemed like it should have been a much longer lived series than it was.

You see, the copy I purchased came with a folder containing a bunch of trailers for different games published by Electronic Arts.
I had that exact same folder on a disk copy of USAF that came in a game pack containing Sim City 2&3, CNC: RA, Sim Copter, Dune 2000, Sim Hospital, etc. I remember how sick to the stomach the trailers for Crusader, Syndicate Wars, and Dungeon Keeper made me as a ten year old while still being exhilarating.

In 2006 a small group of people managed to port the entire engine and some of the game to the PSP and showed it to the game's composer Andrew Sega and E.A. The former of which was so impressed that he produced an updated version of the theme song while the latter shut it down before the team could finish it.
