Tara's death. There is a reason it wasn't shown. I think it's because her mom killed her and is in cahoots with that Mayoral runner up.

I agree with the overall meh assessment. Nothing really happened! It was a filler ep in the beginning of the final season.

I was pretty excited about Sookie hooking up with Alcide, for.. uh.. reasons, but so far I'm pretty disappointed with their relationship, given their chemistry in the previous seasons.

Actually, I don't think Tara is dead.

The goo on her mother could be the vamp who attacked them with Tara escaping too fast for anyone to see. But what really gives a hint is that Pam didn't react to the attack at all. She (as Tara's maker) should feel her progeny's death.

Happened off screen? Check.
No one except the character who mistreated Tara her whole life and just started to re-connect with her being phased? Check.
Pam, her maker, not sensing her death? Check.

I'm going to guess that she isn't actually dead.
