Missed Thera. Otherwise known as the Minoan Eruption.
Wiped out an entire civilization (the minoans), probably the source of the stories about Atlantis and also the most probable cause for many of the Biblical Plagues of Egypt (raining fire, several days of darkness, animals behaving odd) and an explosion like that also probably caused a tsunami (moses parting the sea).

So yeah. I would call that one a rather important one.
