It has been a long time since a brand new IP by beloved Vanillaware was released, the last one being Dragon's Crown which came out over half a decade ago. Their upcoming game 13 Sentinels that was very briefly showcased thus far ended up having a new trailer and not only do we see more of the gorgeous game but there's an actual release date and it's pretty soon too.
I'm incredibly excited for this, not only because this looks just as good as you'd expect a brand new Vanillaware game to look like but also because this one seems to be more like an adventure game set in the modern era with some mech/scifi elements rather than their usual fantasy settings. I always loved the worlds they built but Dragon's Crown was quite a bit short on story so this game seeming to go the completely opposite route with a core focus on story is like a dream come true. Also I haven't touched any of their games since the odin sphere leifthrasir remake so this is coming out right at the nick of time haha.
