Minecraft Coming to Xbox One This Week, PS4 Soon

[/a]The [a href="http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/136833-Sony-Releases-Trailer-for-Minecraft-on-PlayStation-Vita"]PS4 and Vita version of Minecraft[/a] was planned for August, and a tweet yesterday from the [a href="http://www.vg247.com/2014/09/03/minecraft-ps4-release-date-digital/"]PlayStation France Twitter account stated[/a] the digital version would release today, but there was no date for the physical version. The tweet has since been removed.

However, earlier today [a href="https://twitter.com/Kappische/status/507194957354905600"]Daniel Kaplan of Mojang tweeted[/a] that the PS4 version should be out today, but since that, Mojang developer [a href="https://twitter.com/jeb_/status/507261814846267393"]Jens Bergensten tweeted[/a] that they ran into some "show stoppers" (referring to bugs) which caused another delay.

The PS4 version will also have the same features outlined for the Xbox One, according to a post on [a href="http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/06/12/minecraft-on-ps4-new-trailer-revealed/"]the PlayStation blog[/a] in June by Mojang's Owen Hill. This include the upgraded from the PS3 version for a small fee and the imported DLC and worlds. There are still no details on the Vita version, but we know those on PS3 and Vita won't get to play online with PS4 players.

Soooooo can I get a straight answer? Is the digital version available for download on the PS4 today?

And I'm guessing it's too much to ask that they took the same route Blizzard took with Reaper of Souls and allow people to transfer stuff from a 360 Minecraft to a PS4 Minecraft... :3

Sorry if the article wasn't clear. No, it is not out today like expected, but "Soon". I would expect it Friday or Tuesday, unless something really big came up, but that's just my personal expectation.

No worries, it's not how the article was written but rather the simple fact that there's like, 10 different people related to Minecraft tweeting mixed messages so whether or not it actually is out for digital download gets lost in the shuffle.

I appreciate the clarification though.

Maybe one day I'll get it, seeing as it's cheap (I got the 360 version for some reason). Plus using the Xbox One controller on Minecraft might be quite the pleasurable experience.

Personally, I'm waiting for the retroactive releases on all the previous gen systems back to the start of gaming. I'm especially hoping for an Atari 2600 edition.

Yes, it's out today for the NA countries. Was out yesterday for us in Europe/Australia.
Unfortunately, no cross-brand platform save transfers.

Also, seems to be the cheapest way to get Minecraft. The upgrade price on PlayStation seems to be linked to either your trophy data or leaderboard data. You could borrow a disc based copy from a friend and then pick up the upgrade for £3.69

Yes it is. I have it downloaded on my ps4 right now, with 3 skin packs and 3 texture packs. I have it running now! I'm playing the game! I'm playing as Dr Nefarious... Or as a bloater, I can't really decide.

I love Minecraft, but it still doesn't justify me getting a next gen console yet. :|

If anything, I might just finally break and pick up Minecraft for PC. At least I can stop paying for it then.
