Rumor: Avengers 2 Trailer to Debut With Interstellar

Russian site says superhero trailer attached to much-anticipated sci-fi feature

The last time director Christopher Nolan and The Dark Knight Rises [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/5674-Avengers] and the inaugural adventure of Marvel's superhero team slugging it out over who would be the biggest comic-book movie of 2012. Now, a Russian gossip-site suggests that their next pairing will be as allies.

Interstellar, [http://www.filmpro.ru/materials/31811] a big-budget science-fiction drama starring Matthew McConaughey as an engineer who joins a team of astronauts in exploring a wormhole in order to find a new planet to which humans can escape from a dying Earth.

If true, it would mark an unusual (but not unprecedented) alliance between rival studios, as Interstellar is being released by Warner Bros while Age of Ultron is a Disney/Marvel production. Complicating things further is the fact that Disney has a big movie of their own also releasing on November 7th, the animated kid-superhero actioner Cinemablend [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/137679-second-big-hero-6-trailer-reveals-full-team] theorizes that both prospects could be true, with Big Hero 6 getting a conventional trailer while the IMAX-boasting Interstellar could get an IMAX-specific separate trailer.

There has been no comment from either Warner Bros or Disney at this time.

Why do superheros have to change their suits every movie. I mean I get it for some but Captain America has had three different suits and now he will have a fourth one. I just wish he could could keep the suit from the first Avengers movie, it was the best one.

Simple answer?

Marketing, so they can sell you a whole new line of action toys, t-shirts, lunch boxes etc. you name it, they'll stick a picture of a superhero on it and sell it to you. If however, that superhero looked identical to the previous movie's incarnation, then even the most put-upon, world-weary and desperate of parents would notice that they're buying the same crap for their spawn every few months, so the costumes have to change.

Also, Iron Man is pretty much all about the different suits...

That is a logical and sensible answer to a simple question. How dare you say such things on the internet. At the same time the toy people don't care what the movie characters wear as they just release fifty imaginary versions anyway. Take a look at any movie toy line for Batman and tell me when he wore a Red/blue bat suit or a scuba bat suit.

I get it is for marketing and making everything new is good for sales but that is a pretty sad reason when Cap loses his best look just for the sake of looking new.

Oh I wholeheartedly agree, Cap's WWII outfit is clearly superior to anything they've had him wear since.

The only impetus I have to see Interstellar would be to engage in the sadistic act of watching the world's most pretentious and self-important filmmaker crash and burn for the third consecutive feature-length love letter that he's written to himself. Two exciting minutes of a movie that I'll probably go see when it comes out next year isn't enough incentive to go watch Christopher Nolan sniff his own farts for what will probably be almost three hours. When it comes out on video, though, I might rent it if I feel like giving the Mystery Science Theater treatment. I could be misguided in my suspicion-- Interstellar might be a good movie-- but after Inception and The Dark Knight Rises, I really, really doubt it.
