Phil Noto Mixes Mad Men Style with the Marvel Universe

These classy illustrations depict familiar Marvel characters in Mad Men-like settings.

What happens when you combine the style and sensibilities of the 1950s with some of your favorite Marvel superheroes? You might get something a lot like Phil Noto's [http://www.notoart.com/] stirring Mad Men-esque collection, The Hank Pym Photo Archives.

Noto has ingeniously crafted scenes with a variety of familiar Marvel faces, imbuing each piece with a peculiar charm that one might see during those classy yet flawed years. You may have noticed Phil's immediately recognizable work from recent series like Black Widow, and his impeccable linework is evident across these images as well.

In February, he's going to be creating Tumblr [http://marvel.com/news/comics/23465/nycc_2014_phil_noto] for plenty of other sketches, many of which span an entire universe of geekdom, including Doctor Who and more.

I honestly say that these are the most favourite drawings of superheroes ever. They feel so alive, when I look at them I just hear them. The buzzing of conversation, music, laughing, etc. Very very well made, that man has a good photographer's eye.

Loving the guy's general art style as well. Gonna check out some comics of that guy, if I can.

Very nice and "real".
You have the feel of the heroes movements and motivations in these artworks :)
Also very relaxing in some way.

Man, I'd love comics that had an artist like this on them. Like a 1970's run on the X-men with this style would be fantastic. They really have something here.
