Telltale Reveals Number of Episodes in Game of Thrones, Coming Soon

We still know close to nothing, much like Jon Snow, but we now know Telltale's Game of Thrones series is six episodes long.

Posting another teaser image today, Telltale Games has revealed its Game of Thrones [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/game%20of%20thrones] series will be six episodes long. Telltale also said the game's first episode will premiere soon.

This is one episode longer than some of Telltale's other game series. Both seasons of The Walking Dead are five episodes each, and The Wolf Among Us was also five episodes.

Episode one of Game of Thrones will be called "Iron From Ice." The game will also have five protagonists from the same family [http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/telltales-game-thrones-videogame-will-have-five-playable-characters-1472552], Steve Allison, Telltale Games' senior vice president of publishing said on Oct. 31. In the vein of Tales from the Borderlands' multi-protagonist storytelling, decisions in Game of Thrones will affect all family members.

Previous teasers from Telltale indicate its game involves the House Bolton [https://twitter.com/telltalegames/status/505369369493245953].

A Telltale PR representative hinted earlier that the new game series will premiere by the end of this year [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/138235-Game-of-Thrones-from-Telltale-Games-Premiering-2014], and all signs from Telltale support that. We could be seeing "Iron From Ice" quite soon.

Telltale's Game of Thrones is based on George R.R. Martin's book series A Song of Ice and Fire and the HBO adaptation, Game of Thrones.

"Five Protagonists from the same family" IE, similar to the Stark Family, and likely each is going to meet a gruesome end by the end of their chapter, with only one surviving long enough to see 2 chapters.

Still not sure why Telltale isn't making their own IP yet. They have enough clout now that they should be able to sell reasonably well without licensed IP.

I'm really looking forward to this. But I still really want them to announce a The Wolf Among Us season 2.

I am less than enthusiastic about this, not because Walking Dead Season 2 was weaker than Season 1, but because what happens in the game will have no impact of the Game of Thrones story as a whole. Telltale have even said that the family you play will be part of a minor house. So, yeah, not seeing the draw of it.

Exactly what Telltale's games needed; shorter episodes, a longer wait, and a higher price. GOTY GOTY GOTY!!!!

While I am excited about the release, there's one small (personal) problem for me. As Telltale has released a retail version of 'The Wolf Among Us' and 'Walking Dead 1&2' I'll have to wait until they make the GoT game and 'Tales from the Borderlands' available on disc for the PS4.

Two reason: I prefer my games on a disc instead of a download and in Telltale cases I don't want to wait months to get a new episode. They are simply too short individually and Telltale makes really good cliffhangers.

Does this follow Book Canon or TV Canon? Or are they so similar it doesn't matter? I know only the littlest bits about the books, just some differences to the show.

Cool beans, but GIVE US SOME ACTUAL INFORMATION ON THE GAME YOU BASTARDS!

Captcha: "That escalated quickly"

I imagine that will be the crux of the game's story: first quest is to go out and buy some milk and within 20 minutes your entire family is tortured to death in a civil war involving three hundred separate dynasties.
