League of Legends' Summoner's Rift Visual Update is Now Live

Remember that super impressive visual update [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/135083-League-of-Legends-Summoners-Rift-is-Getting-a-Massive-Facelift] we saw for League of Legends' Summoner's Rift map? Well, you can now try it for yourself.

A while ago, we heard that Riot Games was finally pushing out a visual update [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/135083-League-of-Legends-Summoners-Rift-is-Getting-a-Massive-Facelift] of its oldest and most popular map: Summoner's Rift. Initially, the map was confined to Riot's optional testing "PBE" realm, but now, the map has finally made its way to live servers, where anyone can give it a whirl, and earn a couple of summoner icons in the process.

Unfortunately, at the moment, the map is only available in the "Team Builder" [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/conferences/gdc2014/11164-League-of-Legends-Team-Builder-Mode-Makes-It-More-Fun] mode, as well as all of the co-operative bot modes. However, Riot says that it should eventually make its way to the blind and draft pick modes of both ranked and unranked.

To get the two exclusive summoner icons (which you can check out above), simply win a game on each side of the map. Win once on red side? Earn the red side icon. Win a game as the blue team? The blue side icon is yours. But hurry, because these icons will only be available for a few weeks!

The map is still technically in open beta, as Riot are looking to keep improving it before it is officially released, so any and all feedback regarding the changes are appreciated.

I may just load the game up to see how it looks. That blue icon is pretty beast as well. Know if I need to do an actual PvP match or do I get them for just playing bots?

IIRC you are always on blue side in bot games, so it'd be impossible to get red that way regardless.

I thought they fixed that to randomize which side of the map you started on?

It is actually very good and fluid, a couple of my friends were having a few issues, (flashing occasionally without pressing the flash button, bit of map lag here and there but nothing horrible)

However older, and even some newer character models look out of place, i was playing Nassus top lane and he looked like he really shouldn't of been there...but that's a minor nitpick, the map is gorgeous.
