Bomb Threats on Bomberman Dev Defused

In a failed attempt at ironic terrorism, a Japanese man has been arrested for trying to bomb the studio behind the Bomberman series.

Tokyo metropolitan police have arrested 29 year-old Takao Ike of Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan for repeatedly threatening to blow up Hudson Entertainment, publisher of the Bomberman games.

Since October, Ike, a part-time package courier, reportedly sent the company eleven messages warning that he would attach explosives to packages and mail them to the company if they didn't take 80,000,000,000,000 Yen to the JR Takamatsu station.

Ike admitted in a statement, "I did it because I posted my demands concerning the games, but the games didn't improve."

Normally those disgruntled feelings for a developer potentially letting a once-great franchise slowly zombify into oblivion are reserved for message board [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/] rants. For this man, quality Bomberman was serious business.

80,000,000,000,000 yen. Wow. Wonder what that would translate into in either Euro's or American Dollars. How exactly does one go about demanding 80 trillion yen with a straight face?

acording to the first thing i found on google its about £350,000,000,000

so i think one doesnt demand it with a straight face, one presses print/send while choking with laughter

The People who make Bomberman have that much money in the first place?

It seems it would be hard to hide one of those cartoon black bombs at the location but admittedly, the place is probably chock full of them anyway.

I hate it when developers betray their roots with this indecent charge against someone supporting their Bomberman cause.

When you want a company to do something you don't use threats. My Steve Jobs Voodoo doll seems to work just fine.

I wonder if he demanded the money with a cat in his lap with a pinky to his lips. The devs prolly have the same attitude about a threat asking for that much money that many of us here would have.
"Bring it on sucka!!"

So, was he kicking the bombs toward the Hudson building, or was he planting them and then using remote detonation?

Also, how many fire power ups did this guy have? He'd need at least four to take the building down.
