8 Obscure Game Characters We Want Brought Back

Oh, what I'd give to see a return of the Syphon Filter franchise, and a return to form at that. Though Logan's last appearance was in Logan's Shadow in 2007, the PSP titles were a radical shift in from the gameplay style that made the first 3 (well, 4, I suppose) my favorite games of all time. The gameplay wasn't there, the music wasn't there; hell, the Syphon Filter virus wasn't there. Not to mention how brain-dead they had to make the AI to compensate for the god-awful controls. None-the-less, they were decent titles that were never given a proper ending.
Kinda disappointed Chris Stone wasn't mentioned here, though. It's been 12 years since we had to "show the Reds" what for, and they've yet to come back with "bigger guns, and more soldiers."

How could Geno not make the list.... Hes the one nintendo character that people clamor for making a reappearance. Well him and starfox but every time nintendo has made a starfox game since Starfox 64 its been a bitter disappointment and 64 was just a 3D remake of the original. The thread did get plenty of responses, so it would have been lame for me to be mentioned twice over.
You picked my suggestion! Gex really is primed for a reboot. I imagine he would mock gritty reboots of non gritty properties and all the damn superhero movies we get
I was actually just thinking the other day how much I would love to see a current gen reboot of Medievil.
Every once in a while I think that the world needs a Duke Nukem reboot...but then I remember how that turned out and I just play Duke Nukem 3D again, instead.
I pretty much squeed when I saw Sir Daniel Fortesque in the cover picture, and had to immediately go through the list to get to him >.>

Absolutely brilliant game, and for me Nippon Ichi's best work, at least in the story department. ZHP is one of those rare games that proves that a game can invoke genuine emotion and be completely hilarious at the same time. Where else can you find a game about the bonds of friendship, family, and using heroism to complain about your mom finding your porn stash all at once?

I miss Daniel Fortesque quite a bit. Those were good games, although I only played 1 and 2 - I think there was like a vita game or something that I never played. He didn't die in his greatest battle though, he died in his first battle ever, on the first volley of arrows if I'm remembering - he was just full of shit when telling the king about his awesome battles. The game premise was to earn his way into the hall of heroes by taking out the big bad when he returned.
Dan Fortesque's involvement in this makes me very, very happy indeed 
Medievil was one of the first Playstation games I owned and went to great lengths to acquire when I was 11!
I was so rubbish at the games, though In hindsight, it was probably too hard for me at the time (given my crapness at gaming, not necessarily the game's content) but I *loved* that eery medieval fantasy setting with all those lovely gothic graveyards, chalices, zombies, and my favourite- the Hall of Heroes!

I haven't played most of these games but I'd definitely love to see new Gex and MediEvil installments. Hopefully ones with updated controls though - I went back and tried both MediEvi and Gex 3D and my God were they tough to control. Still, they were both a lot of fun and very creative. Perhaps with the success of Yooka-Laylee we might see some of these older characters return, or at least some new characters that are spiritual successors of them.
