The Warriors Come Out To Play On XBLA

The 1979 cult classic film is getting another videogame adaptation in the form of a beat-em-up for Xbox Live Arcade.

With Feeding Frenzy [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Warriors_(film)].

So no, this is not an XBLA re-release of the enjoyable 2005 Warriors trailer [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Warriors_(video_game)] we can gather that there'll be four-player co-op and comic-book style cutscenes recreating famous scenes from the movie. It's likely that the co-op will be online, since CTXM's Heavy Weapon featured four-player multiplayer prominently.

Paramount will also be releasing a comic book to celebrate the film's anniversary.

Seems that 2009 is the year of the sidescrolling brawler, with Atlus' ridiculous-looking Can we dig it [http://www.atlus.com/tokyobeatdown/]? We'll have to wait and see.

DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN DAMN.

I was hoping Rockstars 'The Warriors' was comking to XBLA ;-;
Same here. I'd definately rebuy it.
Same here. It's going to suck
Gonna go with another same here.
Here be the same.

That game (and to a lesser extent, Def Jam: Fight For New York) are the best X-Box games that aren't backwards compatible and are ripe for re-release on X-Box Originals.

Looking at the trailer, and judging by the fact it's going to be released on X-Box Arcade, I'm guessing that the violence, language ("Why don't you just go and ******!") and style of the original (film and game) will have to be toned down quite a bit.

Hmm, I was just thinking a remake of Rockstar's The Warriors would be awesome. Im not a big fan of sidescrollers, so maybe Ill just find a cheap copy of the PS2 game and OD on nostalgia.
