Insidious: Chapter 3 - Well, at Least It's Not Another Poltergeist

Insidious: Chapter 3 is an unnecessary prequel that falls apart at the end and doesn't do a great job exploring the series' mythos, but it's well-made and a relatively scary ride.

Oh a third one. I can't even bring myself to watch the 2nd. The first was good till about the halfway point where it changed tone to something far less believable therefor far less scary. Still, without seeing the poltergeist remake, maybe I shouldn't rush for this.

Good to see Saw 3 getting some love. I believe that was the last good Saw before they just stopped caring, went for the torture porn gimmick and nothing else

There was a second?

Jeez, horror movies are getting more and more forgettable. -_-

I liked Saw 6, too, but the first three are definitely the best of the series.

OT: I find it funny how the biggest or most well known horror franchises are sucking hard- but these small time budget movies like
It Follows ends up being the best horror movies up to date. How is that even possible ...? I'm quite curious man.
Probably because the success of a horror movie has never really been determined by budget.

Ah coincidently, it was 4 and 5 that stopped me from watching 6. Oh dear. Does this mean I should watch all those Wrong turn sequels just in case one of them turns out good? Best order a case of wine for that old gauntlet.

You really don't need to see the Wrong Turn films.

None of them are any good. 2 is probably the best, I guess, but it's still not good.

Wasn't 5 the one with the guy whos kid got killed by a drunk driver? I liked that one, had a good moral (as good a moral as the Saw films can have) and had a nice twist in the end.

The lady doctor totally didn't deserve to die though. That was dumb and didn't make sense with Jigsaw's morals.

That has saved a few precious hours of useful pondering/productive time, thanks! Also quite probably some liver damage too, which some may consider more precious. Not mine, of course.

It has been a while, I can't recall many of the subplots currently. Though out of all the various torturey type films, Saw does do the better half of them. They have a unique style with plot twists at least. Almost a necessity for the franchise I would think.
