I flinched while reading the last sentence. The grammar is off, isn't it? "is because you become a zombie."

The real reason there's only one set of footprints during the worst parts of your ife is that God abandoning you is what made them the hardest times. Duh. Might as well ask why you're always the most tired when you have the least energy.

The cut off makes it sound weird.
"Lord, you said you'd walk with me always. Why when I need you the most, do you leave me?"
"My child, the reason there is only one set of footprints is because you become a zombie."
Became only really works if the person mentioned was permanently a zombie rather than occasionally.

Not the best retelling of the joke I've heard, I much rather the one with the sasquatch.

I prefer this version

Wow... That's a better version...

OT: Did the footprints belong to that one zombie from Warm Bodies or something?

I'm pretty certain the first one I heard was from Larry The Cable Guy, but I can't find it.

Otherwise I still find this web comic version funnier.

Took me a second look to see the zombie shuffle footprints in that last panel, but that was pretty clever.
I guess The Walking Dead's reputation is so bad, not even God Himself wants anything to do with it.

The tense is off. The present form indicates an ongoing process, then why not use the gerund? If its a recently completed process, go with the present perfect. Simple present makes no sense to me and I was hoping for enlightenment.

Like anyone who liked the show in the beginning he decided to play the telltale series and/or read the comics and not care about the show anymore
