Fallout 3 DLC Delayed

Fallout 3 [http://fallout.bethsoft.com/eng/info/opanc.html] have been delayed by a month.

The three DLC packs were first announced [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/87670-Fallout-3-DLC-Game-Editor-Announced] in November 2008, along with plans to release them on a monthly schedule beginning with Operation: Anchorage in January 2009. The first DLC made it on time, coming out on January 27, but Fallout fans are going to have to wait awhile longer for the next two: Bethesda announced over the weekend that The Pitt and Broken Steel have both been pushed back a month.

"The next DLC for Fallout 3, The Pitt, will be out in March," Bethesda's Pete Hines said. "Broken Steel will be out the following month, in April."

Operation: Anchorage simulates the battle for control of Alaska between China and the United States that precipitated the Great War, while The Pitt turns players loose in the raider-infested remains of Pittsburgh and Broken Steel offers the chance to join with the Brotherhood of Steel in its ongoing battle against the remaining forces of the Enclave. Broken Steel is also noteworthy because it will do away with the finality of the original Fallout 3 ending and increase the level cap [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/88554-New-Fallout-3-DLC-Increases-Level-Cap] to 30.

The Pitt is now scheduled to hit in March while Broken Steel will follow in April, although specific dates haven't been settled. No reason was given for the delay.

I suppose they may be taking the Myamoto approach. Better out late and great, than early and crap. Though I might get a little annoyed if they keep delaying a month for each DLC. Personally, I'm still hoping Bioware releases another DLC for Mass Effect. Seriously, they tout that they can do so much with DLC (Which I wanted to see), and they release one. Bloody [Explitive Deleted]. Let us hope Bethesda is the learning kind, and this is their way to fix issues they had the first time.

Oh great, now I have to wait an extra month of people whining about the ending before I can hear them whine about the new ending.

They need more time to put together the left overs that should have been on the original game in the first place.
Is that supposed to be a complaint about lack of content in Fallout 3? Have you actually played Fallout 3 beyond Vault 101?

I'd like to know if the new DLCs will be compatible with old saves or if players will have to start anew. I'm getting dangerously close to level 20 and I'm not sure if I should put F3 on hold till the new content arrives (to be able to continue past lvl 20) or if it won't matter.

There's been absolutely no indication from Bethesda that compatibility will be a problem, and since Broken Steel is designed to extend the game beyond level 20 anyway there's no reason to worry. Nor should you worry about not having enough to do if you continue to explore the wasteland once you hit level 20; I've got over 140 hours into the game, I can't even remember how long ago I hit level 20 and there's still lots to do.

But I'm going to wait for a Knights of the Nine-style boxed release for the DLC, rather than purchase it when it's released digitally. I'd rather wait for something sexy to put on my shelf.

Meh, no biggie. It's just a month.
I have to disagree, it's another two months until I can finally exceed level twenty and actually finish the main quest with my good character, and keep on going...

Ansem has an epic sad face..

At least it's not a "Valve" delay...
I know. A Valve delay would probably be at least the amount of time others could make a full game. Errr... Not an EA game... That'd be a week or two.
