It's not about who dies or not, it's about HOW it happens. There's a lot of ambiguity between Peace Walker and the very first Metal Gear, and while MGS 4 explains the general gist of what happens in between those games, there's still a lot of stuff that isn't clear (like how Big Boss defects back to the US while secretly building Outer Heaven)kuolonen said:Is it really possible to spoil a prequel? If you played metal gear 1 through 4 pretty sure you can make a wild stab at who lives and who dies.
It's not about who lives or who dies. In Metal Gear lore the period MGSV takes place is the period where Big Boss goes full bad guy, and it's not really explained in other games beyond "shit got REAL bad". So now we get to see just how bad shit got and we get to see Sake's fall from hero to villain and I'm so excited you don't even know.kuolonen said:Is it really possible to spoil a prequel? 2/10, there's no Tubular Donkey to be found (his avatar also gives off a Destructoid vibe, no?), but at least I have yet another Erin avatar to use if I ever want to:Teoes said:I certainly appreciate the dedication to this particular strip. Bravo.
S'pose you're right - if they were really dedicated to this strip then that account would have been set up and tweeting months ago.Skatologist said:2/10, there's no Tubular Donkey to be found (his avatar also gives off a Destructoid vibe, no?), but at least I have yet another Erin avatar to use if I ever want to:Teoes said:I certainly appreciate the dedication to this particular strip. Mmm...donuts
Yes, they deserve a -3/10 for only tweeting out stuff relevant to previous within the last 12 hours. What they should have done is play the long term game and planned this shit out months or years in advance, making Erin's account private and just make it public now for this strip. That would at least show they have real dedication instead of this quarter-assed attempt. That's right, this isn't even half assed, it's quarter-assed!Teoes said:S'pose you're right - if they were really dedicated to this strip then that account would have been set up and tweeting months ago.Skatologist said:2/10, there's no Tubular Donkey to be found (his avatar also gives off a Destructoid vibe, no?), but at least I have yet another Erin avatar to use if I ever want to:

Get with the fucking program, guys!
Also because the story is rambling bullshit that doesn't make an iota of sense anyway.kuolonen said:Is it really possible to spoil a prequel? If you played metal gear 1 through 4 pretty sure you can make a wild stab at who lives and who dies.
As a fairly obsessed Metal Gear Solid fan, I'd like to dispute that...Hoplon said:Also because the story is rambling bullshit that doesn't make an iota of sense anyway.kuolonen said:Is it really possible to spoil a prequel? While I am not convinced a good story can actually be spoiled, I also have no wish to know enough to spoil it for anyone. so no worries.Lunncal said:As a fairly obsessed Metal Gear Solid fan, I'd like to dispute that...
...
... But I can't.
Nonetheless! It is entirely possible to spoil this rambling bullshit, so please don't. A surprisingly large amount of people actually care about it.
Have fun deciphering the story once Phantom Pain adds more stuff!Erin said:It was my destiny to be here, in the box
What's that? Play the game before seeing what everyone on the Internet's talking about? That makes WAY too much sense for Erin to try!Caramel Frappe said:I don't blame Erin. When something so big is coming up, you cannot help but do everything in your power to avoid spoilers.
Although it's probably best to not visit the internet- and simply get the game before venturing online. Just my two cents.
I'd like to know how many Big Red Exclamation Points appeared over people's heads when they unboxed you.The Artificially Prolonged said:I've personally took to hiding in locker to avoid spoilers. A carboard box sounds good in theory but when I tried that before MGS4. I opened it up on launch day to find I'd been shipped to Reykjavik.
Ya, I recommend switching to Kingdom Hearts instead.Hoplon said:Also because the story is rambling bullshit that doesn't make an iota of sense anyway.kuolonen said:Is it really possible to spoil a prequel?
