I would say it makes it dumber for anyone who knows basic Medical history.

OT: I feel like this is a movie that suffers from trying too hard to deconstruct and play with tropes that it forgets to make a good story.

You know, this sounds like a perfect Halloween B movie.
I always like to match something stupid with something genuinely terrifying for the night.

Too bad. I really wanted to enjoy this, so I could see some horror movie kids finally get what's coming to them, but unfortunately, all of the movie's problems just sound too off-putting.

I suppose this is the kind of thing that happens when you pitch a movie with a funny premise, people say "Oh wow that sounds hilarious!" because it was hilarious... for the all of five seconds it took to tell people the premise... and then it turns out that you can't actually wring 90 minutes of comedy out of a movie whose punchline came at the very beginning.

This doesn't sound like it's for me, since I don't get the mentality of laughing at kids dying, like "Ded kid, hur hur." That's what messed up Wet Hot American Summer for me, after my brother sang its praises after he watched the Netflix series.
