Zelda Tri Force Heroes Trailer Offers a Fine Overview

Save Hytopia next month in latest adventure for Link

Nintendo has released a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda Tri Force Heroes, due to hit 3DS next month, containing some introduction to the plot along with a look at the cooperative gameplay.

Tri Force Heroes is another cooperative game in the Zelda series, similar to prior multiplayer focused title Four Swords. Three players work together (locally or online) to traverse stages, solving puzzles and fighting enemies along the way, using a new stacking mechanic.

While designed as a multiplayer game, Tri Force Heroes also features a single-player mode, where AI companions (directed using the system's touchscreen) take the place of real friends.

Characters can employ special abilities by wearing different outfits acquired over the course of the game. These include a Zora costume which grants the ability to swim, a Goron suit making its wearer impervious to lava, and a variety of sub-weapon based outfits providing additional combat options. These and other costumes are crafted by collecting materials in dungeons, with rarer materials used to produce the most potent garb found in the more difficult stages.

Tri Force Heroes will release for the Nintendo 3DS handheld on October 23.

There is a Tingle costume. This game is a must-buy for that alone.

P.S. Thanks

I still can't tell if I want this game. It doesn't look bad, but I'm not sure I like the multiplayer focus even if I can use AI partners.

But still, looks neat.

What happened to Purple Link? :O I am surprised they didn't make this part of the four swords series. Even if they wanted to hold it to 3, they could have found a reason to take on of the Links out of the picture.

The problem is, purple isn't a color representing the Triforce even if it looks cool... Maybe there will be a costume :D

Unless they choose to embrace the fan theory of the up-side-down central triforce of shadow. ;) That is usually depicted as purple.

Hmm, I only encountered that theory once before, and that was in an entry to a fanfiction contest that had the premise of Ganondorf defeating Link at the end of OoT. And that's about as much as I remember about that story :p

I just read up on the shadow triforce...

...and this is my opinion of it ;-)

:D

This comes out on my birthday! been recently playing a lot of zelda games again, since I finally got Wind Waker HD, and found a replacement for my Phantom Hourglass cart which mysteriously disappeared >:c

Been wanting another zelda in the wind waker art style for a while now too(hey, it's cute!) and this seems to fill the niche nicely.

Hey, cool! A Mage Link!

I never got the chance to play Four Swords, and this certainly sounds like it's offering an interesting Zelda experience. I mean, a Mage Link? I'm sold!
