Fallout 4 Mod Brings Lightsabers to the Wasteland

"Awaken the Force of the Wasteland."

Fallout 4 has over a dozen potential companions [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/walkthroughs/15092-Fallout-4-How-to-Recruit-All-13-Companions] available, each offering unique perks, an extra body during battle, and the ability to carry some of your extra junk for you. In the event you are riding the Star Wars high of this past week and want to bring along the power of the Force as a companion, equipping a suitable weapon is the first step.

The "invalidfate [http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4591/?] allows your character to equip a lightsaber. But that's not all - it also comes with the appropriate sound effects, so you can "swoosh" and "shoom" your way through the Wasteland.

Color choices include red, blue, pink, and green. In the event you want to fully embrace the power of the Dark Side, a Darth Vader Helmet mod [http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4660/?] is also available.

The YouTube video here [https://youtu.be/MQQkI-powjA] explains how to install Lightsaber Renew.

Eh, someone modding Star Wars material into a Bethesda title is kind of part and parcel of the experience. Along with Anime-inspired animation replacers, BBW mesh models for those who confuse Fallout 4 with The Sims 4, and more casual clothing options than you can shake a stick at.

I'm still waiting for a Macho Man Randy Savage Deathclaw.

I found it weird that the modder chose to use security baton to make this, rather than the Shishkebab, since it would have much better animations and the blade would be longer. I guess they chose it because the baton already has a retractable opening animations attached.

Modding is going pretty well (aside for the Dev's trying to kill it with their patch) I have 87 installed into my FO4 already (excluding some extra textures I manually loaded on top). Still need to wait for the GECK (or whatever they call it this time) in order for the really good mods to come.
