The Conjuring 2 Trailer: The Devil Comes to London

[youtube="KyA9AtUOqRM"}

After taking a brief departure from the horror genre with last year's Furious 7, James Wan has returned with a vengeance.

Aside from being to sue Warner Bros. [http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_conjuring/] for the unwanted tourism they received as a result. It's like that old Hollywood adage, "You're not really a somebody until somebody else takes you to court."

This time around, Wan will hope to avoid any legal woes by taking us to foggy London town, where the people are simply too polite to sue, in The Conjuring 2.

Based on another one of Ed and Lorraine Warren's more infamous cases, the Enfield Poltergeist, The Conjuring 2 sees stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return as the husband and wife ghostbusting duo, this time seeking to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits.

True to form, the trailer features a lot of what you'd expect from a James Wan haunted house flick; dimly-lit rooms, children talking to ghosts, and a capper of a jump scare to send a chill down your spine, so check it out above.

The Conjuring 2 hits theaters on June 10th.

If people want to avoid being haunted, maybe they should try and decorate their houses. You know, make them look more cheerful and less bleak. I imagine their thought process when decorating...

"Now, we want to decorate the walls with dirty, yellowed wallpaper. Lets make it look like it's 70 years old. Now, for the ceiling. We could paint it white...but that's too clean. Lets rub dirt in it to give it a nice filthy look. Perhaps we could also have 100 people come in and chain smoke for a few days to give everything an extra dirty quality.
OH...and LIGHTS! We don't want any of those. But where we have to have some, make sure the bulb is the lowest strength you can find. Just a dull glow should do it."

I was expecting a Dick Van Dyke London accent, but it looks like they actually hired English people to play English people.

Hype hype hype hype hype hype hype hype hype hype.

Hoping this will be good, acknowledging that horror sequels have a history of being garbage but still... Conjuring was so fucking good and came out of fucking nowhere, capturing the concept of slow burn dread building up, avoiding an over abundance of jump scares and having awareness of shit that actually comes off as creepy. I hope this does well too, would be nice to have another awesome experience with an audience like I did the first.

Wow, this looks great. The Haunting of Connecticut was brilliant, one of the best and most chilling horror films for many years. The expert couple were one of its best features and I'm glad this se/pre-quel will see them return. The Conjuring was okay...it was no more creepy than the creepy doll was even before it got haunted. But it lacked the main couple and made the mistake of putting a face and form to the evil which IMO diminishes it.

I'm almost sad that it was Haunting of Conneticut that established the Warrens' room of haunted knick knacks, since now every film that follows has to be a prequel. Saying that, I do love the idea of a movie telling the story of just one of those objects. It's a brilliant storytelling idea, each movie adding more to the franchise's lore. I'm *going* to watch this movie and any others that come after it. The two we've had so far have been great, the first in particular, doing more for the genre than most other films combined in many years. Having the Warrens return is icing on the cake. Can. Not. Wait!

Just realised, I made a complete mess of movie names there. When I said Haunting of Connecticut (never realised before there was a c before the t, autocorrect taught me something new!), I meant The Conjuring and when I said The Conjuring, I meant Annabelle. I got the names completely mixed up and wrong. Anyway, "THE CONJURING" was bloody brilliant, "ANNABELLE" was good but not great, the Warrens' knick knack room is still cool and I can't wait for this sequel.

I loved the Salem witch trial backdrop of the first film, I love the whole atmosphere and ambience that it creates and THE CONJURING was one of the best horrors of recent years. I don't think I've even seen HoC.
