The Werewolf inspired WarCraft III mod is one of the best LAN party games, ever.

They all sound like good choices. I plan on getting some of these when I move out soon, along with Catan and Shadows Over Camelot.

I have most of these, and will probably look into the others.

Missing Smash Up! though, the only game where you can have cyborg dinosaur minions of Cthulhu fight off against steampunk killer ants.

Betrayal at the House on the Hill is also really really great. Simple, fun, and only the slightest chance of being forcibly shapeshifted into a giant snake and eating all your friends.

My favourite is Pikomino. Takes about 20 minutes and can play from 2 to 8. The gameplay is repeatedly rolling dice and choosing what to take from your dice pool to acquire points or steal from other players. It's really a game of luck and swearing at dice.

Mafia? Werewolf?? I'd rather play <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Serial-Killer>Serial Killer, thank you very much... :p

Other than that, I remember playing The Resistance at a friend's birthday party... I was always the female traitor... and it was awesome!

Great article, I have some of these and will probably end up getting a lot of the others.
Sorry to be that guy, but number 6 is "Dixit", not "Dix it". It's Latin (3rd Person, Perfect Tense) and means He/She/It spoke/said.

One small point: the "One Night Ultimate" version of Werewolf pictured doesn't actually require a player acting as moderator, just a smartphone/tablet download of the app to call out when the various roles are supposed to do things.

Some combination of tablet and call-aside to the TOS seems to have resulted in a double post. Apologies.
