2C Gaming's Epic Legacy Pushes D&D 5th Up to Level 30

2C Gaming's Epic Legacy will add new character options up to level 30 for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition.

Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition has been out for some time now and while, for many, this just means they've had time to become familiar with the game, for the most dedicated players it can mean that they're starting to run up against the borders of its content. More specifically, more than a few player characters have probably hit the current level cap of 20. Luckily for them, third-party game companies are coming up with ways to push past that sad barrier.

<a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/142429-Total-Party-Kill-Handbook-Kickstarter-Aims-to-Arm-Busy-DMs#&gid=gallery_4710&pid=1>2C Gaming, for instance, has recently launched <a href=https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2cgaming/epic-legacy-the-5th-edition-game-beyond-20th-level>a Kickstarter to fund Epic Legacy, a new unofficial rule book aimed at expanding the current crop of 5th Edition advancement options so players can continue with their high rank characters all the way up to level 30. Containing a whopping 250 pages of illustrated and "professionally formatted" content, the book will include an array of high level classes, feats, "epic" combat mechanics and "mythic" monsters designed to challenge even the most powerful of player characters. 2C is trying to raise 35,000 dollars to fund the publication of the book. With 18 days left it's raised just over 5,500.

Speaking about the book, author and project lead Ryan Servis revealed that it was 2C's desire to do more than just "pack more custom content into the current 20th level box." Rather, the company wanted to turn the game "up to 11" and give players options that would allow them to experience grand scale adventures unlike anything available in the basic game. "Expanding the framework of the game instead of trying to pack more into it opens up way more creative possibilities," said Servis. "Saving the universe by slaying Cthulhu, becoming a god worshiped by mortals, or a lone master teaching enlightenment to the most worthy of students. This is the idea at the core of Epic Legacy."

If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, swing by the Epic Legacy Kickstarter and give it a gander. If you want to actually try it you can also download the book's <a href=http://www.2cgaming.com/epic-legacy.html>free beta. It's not the final version, but it should provide a fair idea of what the finished product will contain.
