Similarly, Goku and friends got really lucky about their antagonist order. If any two of those enemies got swapped our heroes would have been wrecked.09philj said:It's weird in JRPGs where your epic quest just so happens to visit equipment shops in the exact order that means each has better equipment than the last.
eeeeeh, would they? I always viewed it as the protagonists rising up to the occasion.Fappy said:Similarly, Goku and friends got really lucky about their antagonist order. Well you forgot the flashlightkajinking said:Let's see; I spot a sniper scope, a holo sight, drum magazine, bipod, foregrip, laser pointer, underbarel grenade launcher, silencer, bayonet, and I think some kind of thermal scope. I'm trying to think of any attachments they missed.
It's even crazier in Crono Trigger, where the weapons of 65 million BC are better than the ones in the 24th century.09philj said:It's weird in JRPGs where your epic quest just so happens to visit equipment shops in the exact order that means each has better equipment than the last.
Kid Buu vs Radditz-Saga Goku.......HA!Fappy said:Similarly, Goku and friends got really lucky about their antagonist order. I don't know about that...Swap Vegeta from the Saiyajin Saga with Frieza. Goku's most powerful attacks are the Kaioken and a tiny Spirit Bomb, neither of them (even a giant spirit bomb) came close to stopping Frieza. AT BEST you could make the assumption that Frieza would make Goku go SSJ by killing Gohan or something. If that's the case, then the heroes would still get killed if fighting the Androids, Cell, or Buu instead of Vegeta.sid said:eeeeeh, would they? step 1: antagonist x (say, frieza) beats up everyone, nobody strong enough to beat him
step 2: protagonist x (say, goku) rises up, permanently unlocks just enough power in the heat of the moment to overpower antagonist x (goku goes super saiyan for example)
step 3: world is saved, enter antagonist y
the punchline is that no matter how bad things get, by power creep rules the good guys will always get juuuust high enough to deal with it
I like how the bayonet is directly in front of the grenade launcherThe Enquirer said:Well you forgot the flashlightkajinking said:Let's see; I spot a sniper scope, a holo sight, drum magazine, bipod, foregrip, laser pointer, underbarel grenade launcher, silencer, bayonet, and I think some kind of thermal scope. I supppse maybe they missed a foldable stock for the gun.
EDIT: Actually I think they have one.
