Holy generic stuff, that's an atrocious cover art. Not that it actually matters in the grand scheme of things but it's just so ugly in the most generic ugly looking way.

I have to agree with Jensen, this cover is a white and grey mess. Way too damn much going on to figure any of it out, and the main character doesn't look particularly compelling.

It's... actually worse than the original's cover art. I didn't think that was possible.

And what is the guy on the right holding? Is that supposed to be some kind of buzzsaw launcher? He looks like he's trying to barbecue ribs on a portable grill.

so much hate! come on guys i think its nice. its like a classic late 2000s shooter cover. and to answer youre question the guy on the right is grilling some steak. how do you think those gears of war guys stay so big? they gotta eat steak all day every day

Gears has never had really great cover art ("Judgment"'s is fine, but not noteworthy), and this game is no exception.

Oh well. It's better than 3's cover art which was a blatant copy of the first game's with a colour change.

Is it just me, or do they (they being the two dudes on the cover) seem a lot less roided out? I mean, they're huge, but in comparison to what I've seen of the previous games, it looks like they skipped leg, arm, and upper body day.

Yeah that's kinda been the direction they've gone in since the third game. This looks like they took the armour from "Judgment" with the figures from "3".
