Nope. Tried giving it a 2nd chance. Just doesn't work. Not only have they ruined Erin, but they've ruined her sister too. Erin looks like a mutant rat person without some of the good features to make her look more lovable. Her sister looks downright ugly.
New artist has a style, I understand that. But that style doesn't belong in Critical Miss. That's like taking the Mona Lisa and having it repainted by Andy Warhol.

I actually do stuff like this to myself all the time.

Yeah... I just can't get past the art style. Why does Erin now have dot eyes without real pupils? Why is her nose drawn so predominately? For that matter why does both her nose and ears have an odd red tint like she is in the middle of suffering from the flu? Does she have a fever or something? Still the humor is pretty good and I like the concept of the last two strips...
I want to just say that I really like the art style, maybe even more than the regular one, but that I understand the people who are put off by it, especially the nose and its red tint. It's something that can be very irritating if you're not used to it, I had that exact same feeling before.
The characters only have three fingers now? This goes against canon! This is Nick Fury, Johnny Storm and Heimdal all over again, but with fingers. If fingers don't matter, then why change them??!? (...except in the first panel where Erin appears to have 4 fingers) What's next? Female Ghostbusters!??!
I am trying to be open-minded with this new artist. But the Ralph Bakshi feel that it's giving me, makes me want Corey back. Come back Corey. This strip and EDA are the two main reasons I come to this site every day. That's right--more than Yahtzee. I said it.
