Pokemon GO Field Tests Come Stateside - Here's How to Sign up

Interested in testing Nintendo's upcoming Pokemon mobile ARG: Pokemon GO?

I've got some good news for Pokemon fans today. Field (beta) testing for official website [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/pokemon%20go?os=pokemon+go] to sign up.

The game, which is being developed by ARG veteran Niantic "combines mobile location technology and augmented reality to create a unique game experience that motivates players to go outside, explore, and catch wild Pokemon in the world around them."

If chosen, you'll be able to play a test version of the game for free and report back to Niantic with any bugs or suggestions. It recommends potential testers have a device running Android Version 4.3 or higher, or iPhone 5 or higher.

It's too early to see if this is going to be the smash hit Nintendo hopes it will, but it certainly does hold a lot of promise. Definitely worth checking out!

If I had a smart phone, I would try this. I really should just get one. >.>

Anyway, despite being very skeptical about the quality of GO with so little info to go on, it would be cool to get in on this. But I also feel like I would not be a good candidate for this test, so maybe it's best to let someone else who travels more on a daily basis to get a position.

Don't bother getting a Windows Phone, we always get screwed over....

O\T I'd love to try it out. But lack the necessary OS to do so. Seams to be the best thing we'll ever get for a REAL pokemon experience.

Bingo. Got super excited when the article said North America, only to find out that it was USA only- Canada wasn't included.
