These Battlefield 1 Spectator Mode Screenshots Look Amazing

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1334/1334544.jpgThese spectator mode screenshots show off just how great Battlefield 1 looks.

Everyone know that the Frostbite engine turns out some nice looking games, and we're all expecting Battlefield 1 to continue that trend. If these new screenshots are any indication, it won't disappoint.

Taken during EA Play (EA's E3 event) by Imgur user berdu [https://imgur.com/user/berdu], the screens show off the game's spectator mode, and appear to feature a single map. Berdu's disclaimer on the gallery states that "These screenshots are sponsored by EA, meaning they paid for my flights and hotel for EA Play at Los Angeles."

Windmills, ruined buildings, and observation balloons can be seen in the shots. Taken together, you'll be able to see how destruction affects the environment, as well as how fog and rain can affect visibility.

Obviously, these screens represent the absolute best the game will look, as it was likely running on a PC with some insane specs. Still, even if you have to dial it back a bit, Battlefield 1 still seems like it will look great. Now we just have to hope the gameplay lives up to the visuals.

The before and after stuff is great. There are shitloads of ruined buildings and landscapes etc. in games and they kind of lack impact if you never see them in their prior pretty state.

It does look impressive, and I do want to check this game out, but I'm still cautious. Battlefield has never had a great, or even good, single player (no, I don't could the Bad Company games because that's a different breed) in my eyes.

Throw in the fact that there wasn't really a "bad" side in The Great War, and I'm thinking that the writers may have a bit of trouble trying to tell a compelling story.
But it does look pretty, I'll give them that.

Yes they're gorgeous, if you click through them really fast you can see them at the actual frame rate BF1 will run at on launch too.

Buying a Battlefield game for the single player is like watching porn for the character development.

I miss the days of BF1942-2142 when the single player was expressly a training mode for the multiplayer and little else. I would quite like to see a Bad Company 3 campaign appear sooner or later, I miss Preston and the gang too.

The more impressive these graphics get, the more I worry about the possibility of us all currently being held in a future matrix style simulation as they watch me take a shower and laugh at my tiny manhood. Amongst all the other sinister activities anyhow.

Yes, yes. It certainly looks pretty. This has always been the case with Battlefield games.

But have you people actually seen the gameplay? It looks like BF4 with a thin veneer of WWI paint on top. It still looks just as shallow, just as buggy, and just as dull as it's been since BF3.

I just....can't muster the will to be excited for this game anymore. I have zero faith[footnote]Pun most definitely intended[/footnote] in post BC2 DICE.
