Pokemon Go Gym Leaders Unveiled, More Easter Eggs Teased

According to Niantic Labs' John Hanke, the current game is only 10% of what the teams wants the finished game to be.

Niantic is planning some big things for Pokemon Go in the future, assuming they can keep the servers working. Niantic confirmed at Comic Con 2016 that future updates [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/168013-Pokemon-GO-to-Get-Trading-More-Pokemon] will include training and new Pokemon, as well as the inclusion of Pokemon Centers and PokeStop customization.

Also unveiled at Niantic's Pokemon Go Comic Con panel [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8BpwPLwygg] were the faces behind Team Valor, Team Mystic, and Team Instinct - Candela, Blanche, and Spark. In addition to showing off the Team Leaders, Niantic confirmed that the legendary birds are, in fact, tied to teams. Somehow.

Niantic's John Hanke also confirmed the Eeveelution Easter Egg (naming your Eevee Sparky, Rainer, or Pyro before evolving it will result in a Jolteon, Vaporeon, or Flareon, respectively), but also teased that there are other Easter Eggs in the game - and they're ones that no one has found yet.

The tracking in the corner only shows Pokemon that are three paw prints away. It's supposed to also show two, one, and no paw print pokemon too, so that you can navigate and track down pokemon that are shown to be near you.

Supposedly they removed the functionality to reduce server load, presumably the plan is too put it back in though with apps tracking pokemon spawns in real time you don't strictly need it at the moment (even though it feels kinda hollow).

The ordering of nearest to furthest is still accurate so one can make educated guesses based of grass shuffles.

Ya know what would be cool? If there were local Pok?mon leagues or something. That could really get a lot of milage out of people.

That said, if the current game is only 10% of what the team wants, I do somewhat question the intent of already releasing it. Surely when they implement trading and all these custom things, a great deal of people's gonna be so high in level they won't spend that much extra time on it, once they're in the level 20's.

Here's a shocker. A company consisting of many experienced, well qualified people can think about more than one thing at a time.

Besides, the tracking bug was wrecking the servers, so they temporarily removed it to unload the strain. It's understandable that Niantic didn't expect 75 million downloads within the first month of release. So it's forgivable that they had to use a band-aid solution.

No. No its not. Because instead of communicating with its fanbase, and fixing the literal biggest gameplay element of their game, that are taking about their future projects. I hate to break it to you, but if this does not get fixed in a timely manner ( im talking about weeks at most), there will be no one left to play the last 90% of their broken mess of a mobile game.

And as far as i am aware, niantic has roughly 20 employees. So no, they dont have the luxury of multitasking.

Going to repeat. A company consisting of many experienced, well qualified people can think about more than one thing at a time. Even singular people can think about one thing, while doing another. So yes, they do have the luxury of multitasking.

And FYI: Repeatedly stating a game is "90% broken" does not make the statement less false.

So, am i to understand that you think the game is fine as it is? I mean if you are having fun with it in it's state more power to you, but the numbers have been steadily declining despite being released in more countries.

I want more content. Such as basic things like trading and PvP battles. But that's not synonymous with the game being broken.

And I'd rather temporarily have no method of tracking Pokemon rather than not being able to play the game at all.

But as I stated. They're able to think about adding more features while doing bug fixes and server upgrades.

EDIT: Also, declining numbers in the US appear to merely be stabilizing after peaking. Arguable if it's related to server issues. Decline started too early to be related to the tracking feature.
