Overwatch, Overwatch, Overwatch.

Now I have deal with a New Generation of Blizzard fans that only cares about Overwatch.
Oh, the humanity! It's just like when I started off with The Lost Vikings and had to deal with whippersnappers who introduced me to this StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo nonsense. ;P

Snark aside, that's hardly an issue. People will play what they want to play, and if people only play Overwatch, then you won't have to worry about them.

The Lost Vikings argument holds no weight when its a very obscure game that I doubt has a fandom of.

You should have used this Arguement, "All these World of Warcraft whippersnappers will never know how awesome Starcraft 1, Diablo 1 and 2, and Warcraft 3 were :("

You...do realize that I'm not really making an argument at all, right, or, rather, that kind of argument? That I was being sarcastic?

What I WAS arguing was that the whole "kids these days" argument is just as asinine regardless of whether you draw the line. You might get some clout in dividing the Warcraft fanbase between the RTS games, WoW, and Hearthstone, but that's about it - I'm not so tempraemental that I feel threatened by people enjoying something I don't. True, I'd much rather have a Warcraft IV than WoW, but I'm hardly going to begrudge people who like WoW for enjoying a product that I don't.

So, if people only play Overwatch, and enjoy Overwatch, who am I to begrudge them for that? At the very worst, I could only say that Overwatch diverts resources from other projects, but that's true of every multi-franchise developer ever.

And that is what I am worried about and its also the little things.

Like Blizzcons in the forseeable future is gonna be nothing but Overwatch shit, The Cosplay show-off section of it most definately gonna be nothing but Overwatch Cosplayers.

And I worry Blizzard is gonna add more Overwatch characters in Heroes of the Storm. I mean I want also Starcraft heroes and Diablo heroes.

Ah, yes, cosplay - the be all and end all of fandom.

Your argument basically boils down to "people like what I don't like, and that's bad" - the argument is just as irritating no matter who's making it, and regardless of which franchise it's being made on behalf of. Also, Overwatch has the second smallest proportion of heroes in HotS, it's hardly going to overshadow any of the other franchises anytime soon.

I never mentioned Cosplay being the Be All and End All of Fandom...

I played Diablo 2 multiplayer and WC3 multiplayer mods for years, followed by hardcore WoW raiding from European launch to mid-WotLK...

...then some of my friends who never played any Blizzard games, suddenly got addicted to Hearthstone/HotS while knowing nothing about the universes Blizzard created.

It's funny when they talk about all that stuff that was inspired by Blizzard games, without knowing about all the lore flavor.

Back in highschool I was the geek one who could only talk about Blizzard games, now 10 years later the tables have turned. :D
