The Lost Vikings argument holds no weight when its a very obscure game that I doubt has a fandom of.
You should have used this Arguement, "All these World of Warcraft whippersnappers will never know how awesome Starcraft 1, Diablo 1 and 2, and Warcraft 3 were
"
You...do realize that I'm not really making an argument at all, right, or, rather, that kind of argument? That I was being sarcastic?
What I WAS arguing was that the whole "kids these days" argument is just as asinine regardless of whether you draw the line. You might get some clout in dividing the Warcraft fanbase between the RTS games, WoW, and Hearthstone, but that's about it - I'm not so tempraemental that I feel threatened by people enjoying something I don't. True, I'd much rather have a Warcraft IV than WoW, but I'm hardly going to begrudge people who like WoW for enjoying a product that I don't.
So, if people only play Overwatch, and enjoy Overwatch, who am I to begrudge them for that? At the very worst, I could only say that Overwatch diverts resources from other projects, but that's true of every multi-franchise developer ever.
