Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Announced for Nintendo 3DS

The game comes to the Nintendo 3DS this May.

During the Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct today, Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, an upcoming title that will take inspiration from the second installment in the series, Fire Emblem Gaiden.

The game will release on the Nintendo 3DS on May 19. The game's protagonists, Alm and Celica, will be available as Amiibos when the game releases.

"Echoes is inspired by the second installment of the series, Fire Emblem Gaiden, released exclusively in Japan in 1992," Nintendo of America adding that [https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/821840607836446721] "everything that made Fire Emblem Gaiden unique is here: free-roaming, dungeons, and flexible character progression."

Also announced during the Nintendo Direct was the fact that Fire Emblem Warriors, first announced at Nintendo's Switch presentation last week, new, currently untitled main Fire Emblem [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/169315-Fire-Emblem-Warriors-Also-Releasing-on-New-Nintendo-3DS-Systems], which will release for the Switch sometime in 2018.

Will this be like Shadow Dragon, where they give the game a new graphical coat but don't have anything like Support Conversations, the classic Weapon Triangle, and an army of distinctive characters so I give a shit if they die, because the game predates all of those things I love about Fire Emblem?

Thus making a game that I hate?

Those are some nice Amiibos. The Fire Emblem ones are always so cool looking and would make a great collection...

Anyway, I'm sure I will enjoy this game. Hell I enjoyed Shadow Dragon and lament the lack of localization for its sequel (which fixed a lot of the issues), so it can't really be worse than that.
