Don't Stop Mario Now

Who knew that gaming's most famous plumber and the dulcet tones of Freddie Mercury would make such a natural combination? At least one fan did, setting footage from Super Mario Galaxy to Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now" in an almost commercial-quality video that's sure to help you ease into your work day.

Now, it's certainly no secret that the vast majority of fan-made Anime Music Videos (AMVs) are utter crap. All you need is one look around YouTube to tell you that - though sometimes there are pleasant exceptions [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W_wd9Qf0IE] to the rule.

When 95 out of every 100 or so fan-made music videos are awful, it makes the rare gems all that more valuable. In all honesty, I can't quite say exactly what it is that makes this one particular tribute to Super Mario Galaxy so very compelling. Yeah, Queen is awesome, and SMG is easily one of the best games this console generation, but the two just blend together so damn well. Perhaps it's that both the game and the song just seem so damn exuberant and joyful, making one very natural fit.

Zelda: Majora's Mask set to Sonata Arctica [http://www.youtube.com/user/JimLad800], myself.

Ooooo, can we post links to favorite videos? This one is 8 years old and I've still never seen anything quite as good. It's a DBZ video no less.

That was a great mash up of queen and super mario galaxy. It actually put me in the mood to play that game over again.

Also, is anyone else reminded of Shawn of the Dead when they hear that song? Makes me laugh everytime I hear it because of that bar scene.

The Super Mario Galaxy is great mixed with the Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now". Kudos to the man who makes those type of great music videos.

That was ... really good.

On a side note, super mario galaxy looks pretty awesome. Who knew.
Galaxy is a fantastic, FANTASTIC game. Almost worth a Wii all on its own.

Well...It is for the first 2 thirds of the game. The last few levels weren't nearly as interesting as the early ones, in fact, some of them just seem to be copy's with a different theme. Still probably the best game on the Wii.

There will never be another Freddie Mercury.

If only he were alive today, he would've curb stomped Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna all at once with his fabulousness.

Anyways, good video.

I still consider these both fairly good, but that makes me want to beat SMG.
