Hearthstone's Year of The Mammoth Pre-Patch is Now Live

PSA: This patch contains the nerfs to Small-Time Buccaneer and Spirit Claws, but NOT the "Hall of Fame" changes to some classic cards.

A patch was just pushed out to Hearthstone that contains within it the changes to Arena we got a peek at the other week, some nerfs to some particularly frustrating cards, and preparations for the upcoming "Year of The Mammoth".

As a PSA, this patch does not contain the "Hall of Fame" changes [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/169562-Hearthstone-Year-of-The-Mammoth-Big-Changes-Nerfed-Cards] that will move Azure Drake, Sylvanas Windrunner, Ragnaros the Firelord, Power Overwhelming, Ice Lance and Conceal from Standard to the Wild format.

With this patch, the Arena game mode has switched from Wild format to Standard [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/169618-Hearthstone-Arena-Changes-Wild-to-Standard#&gid=gallery_6967&pid=1], and the distribution of cards has been altered significantly, putting more rares, epics, and legendaries in Arena decks.

Data-miners at Hearthpwn have also discovered that the lead up to Journey to Un'goro will also feature "daily log-in rewards", that you'll get just for logging in every day. The are as follows:

Day 1: 50 Gold
Day 2: 1 Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Pack
Day 3: 100 Arcane Dust
Day 4: 1 Old Gods Pack
Day 5: 1 Journey to Un'Goro Pack
Day 6: 50 Gold
Day 7: 1 Journey to Un'Goro Pack
Day 8 - Day 14: 50 Gold

Yeah noticed the 2 nerfs when I logged in this morning, go free dust. Speaking of which it's nice they're doing free log in rewards, especially the free packs. Wish it was more than 7-14 days, also now that i think about it they gave more free stuff for the last two sets....well this year is starting off swimmingly.

Yeah, the login reward seems to be the reason why the year is called the Year of the Mammoth. Mammoth greed. This is pathetic and makes Ben's latest statement about making the game more f2p friendly laughable. After a big bump in price on top of lowering the number of neutral legendary cards while doubling the number of class legendaries, they give us a whole 2 packs that count and 100 gold.
They might as well have not bothered doing this.

Also important to note, the day 8-14 rewards in place only in case the release of the expansion gets delayed.
