Vampyr E3 Trailer Shows Off the Bloody Streets of London

Dontnod Entertainment's new game Vampyr puts you in the role of a reluctant vampire.

The newest game from Life is Strange developer Dontnod Entertainment is Vampyr. Set in London in 1918, the game thrusts you into the role of Dr. Jonathan Reid, a famous surgeon who has just returned home from the Great War. Reid has been turned into a vampire against his will, and now he has to balance two opposing desires: His oath to protect and heal the sick, and the need to hunt and feed on those he is supposed to save.

There's a brand new E3 trailer for the game:

While the stylized nature of the trailer doesn't share much about the actual gameplay, it does give a look at the game's conceptualization of the streets of London. The official description that accompanies the trailer offers a bit more insight, though.

"To survive against deadly foes roaming the streets - vampire hunters, undead Skals and other monstrosities - you will need to choose which civilians to feed on, so you can grow stronger and evolve your vampiric abilities. Use your unholy powers to manipulate and delve into the lives of those around you - but be prepared to live with the consequences of your actions. A web of interconnected citizens with unique lives and relationships react to your decisions, and killing just one may cause the downfall of an entire city district. Your actions will save or doom London."

Vampyr is coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in November of 2017.

There is a slightly older gameplay clip, for any who have yet to see. 17 mins long. Who knows what changes have occurred since though.

I was getting into the trailer but the stock sound effects really killed it.

Why am I not surprised that the developers of a pretty dumb teenage drama game with iffy writing is now making a game about a regretful vampire and his moral dilemmas. Extras points for setting it post war for extra dreariness and inb4 the culmination of his powers is time travel and going back to kill the patient that turned him effectively invalidating the rest of the game. I also like how the trailer shows that they really wanted to make a "Netflix TV series" game again.

His oath to protect and heal the sick, and the need to hunt and feed on those he is supposed to save.
Now I don't see the problem here. Considering the game suggests you don't necessarily kill whoever you feed on, the fact that the character you play as is a Doctor means his ailment technically helps him drum up new business so in other words he can still stay fed and heal those that are injured. Of course ignoring the fact he could only feed on criminals, hunters and what not whilst being some kinda vampire of justice.

Use your unholy powers to manipulate and delve into the lives of those around you - but be prepared to live with the consequences of your actions. A web of interconnected citizens with unique lives and relationships react to your decisions, and killing just one may cause the downfall of an entire city district. Your actions will save or doom London."
I seriously doubt there will be this level of complexity to the game after having seen Life is Strange's "complex relationships", sucking people dry and using your powers willy-nilly whilst being a dick to everyone will strange enough cause the people of London to become wary of vampires and crimes will be more widespread under the guise of hunting vampires, taking a sip, being a gentleman and sticking to the shadows will lead to everyone tipping their hat at you whilst the mysterious Dark Knight saves the city of London from monsters. Bleh.

That song is absolutely terrible for the trailer. It sounds completely wrong for the setting and action. Visuals are alright although show nothing of gameplay. I like the idea of the game in principle, but that's not a good trailer.

Those are some dark screenshots. I can picture the vampireyr, stumbling around, stubbing his feet on furniture.
