Blizzard is Making Some Changes to How Hearthstone Card Packs Work

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1415/1415458.jpgBlizzard's planning to make opening Hearthstone card packs more exciting, starting with the next expansion.

If you're a Hearthstone player, the odds are that you've complained about duplicate cards in packs at least once. Well, Blizzard has heard those complaints, and when the next expansion launches, the company plans to do something about them. The changes were announced in a post [http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/20852959/] on the official Hearthstone blog.

Starting with the next expansion, when you open a pack that contains a Legendary card, it will be a Legendary from that set that you do not own. Once you own a Legendary card (golden or non-golden) you won't get a duplicate of it until you have collected all the Legendary cards from that set. In addition, you'll never receive more copies of any one card in a pack than you can use in a single deck.

Another new change is that you will be guaranteed to receive at least one Legendary within your first ten packs of a new set. All of these changes will apply to packs from all sets, not just those from the newest expansion.

Finally, Blizzard also announced a new promotion that will be starting "in the next few days." That promotion will offer bonus Journey to Un'Goro card packs in bundles, with the bundle price remaining the same. Here's the offering:

7 Pack bundles will include 2 bonus packs for a total of 9
15 pack bundles will add 5 bonus packs for a total of 20
40 pack bundles will add 12 bonus packs for a total of 52 packs
60 pack bundles (only available on PC) add 18 bonus packs for a total of 78

There's no word on what the next expansion might be, or when it might launch. That said, these are some positive changes to card packs that we'll see once it rolls out.

"Hell Yes" to all of that. I don't need to worry that I'll get the same (crap) Legends I already have, I will never again get three Cruel Taskmasters in the same f*cking pack, I'll have an opportunity to see new Legendaries sooner than "probably never", and Un'goro has been my favorite expansion so more packs is always welcome. 4-for-4 on this one, Blizzard.
