Leisure Suit Larry 9: Are They Still Making These?

Hoorah, Codemasters is resurrecting Leisure Suit Larry again. I'm so excited by this "pants-busting adventure" that I could burst.

In this nail-biting climax to the Leisure Suit License, Larry Lovage has become a movie mogul, ruining all pretense of the original plot. As he can now afford scantily clad whores, he is sending his son to do his dirty work. Watch the new Larry run through predictable plots based around already aged movie references.

While the Activision-Blizzard merger sent this license to the bargain bucket bin, Codemasters picked it up cheap and is touting it for a Spring 2009 release.

Thrill as you see soft-core pornography used as an excuse for cheap gender stereotypes.

Ogle at the phoned in voice overs by legendary bikini wearers Carmen Electra and Shannon Elizabeth.

Wish you'd spent your money on something else, like a girlfriend.

Box Office Bust: PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Whoop-de-doo.

They just wont stop... they just wont stop.
I thought the series had faded into the minds of strange elderly men or rather depraved men/boys of any age.
As well as being awful I really don't see the point in these games.
Also, Codemasters? I'm ashamed of you.

It's funny how we're all ragging on Codemasters for making it. Because it goes without saying that if they do, someone will buy it, and we all know that making fun of the people who'd actually pay money for it is probably a lost cause.

I'll actually be interested to see how well it sells. Except for 14 year old boys who aren't technically supposed to buy it anyway, I can't imagine that many adults will be that interested.

Because...

These games were great when Al Lowe was still in charge of them. That last one, the college one was a huge steaming pile of crap sandwiched between four CDs that were also made of crap then put in the microwave until they were all dried out and black.

Larry, you've come a long way since I first met you in the late '80s.

Man I miss that game. New one looks fun though.
Don't get your hopes up dude. Larry hasn't had an even half decent game for a very long time.

I think that trailer killed a good batch of my brain cells. Anyone got tips for getting them back?

Loved the Gears of War 1 Madworld references in the trailer, actually the whole thing was a reference.

Probably wont get this though, it needs more to interest me then just ripping off Gears of War.

Same. I mean about the Larry 7, because after that there has been a downfall.

And I won't pick this one up. Al Lowe made the games great, Magna Cum Laude was terribad.

For some odd reason I actually watched the trailer. And it was really funny until the second piece of music started. So there we go, this game has produced at least one, although extremely short-lived, chortle. I will now forget it ever existed.
