Future Promotes Publishing Managers

Magazine and website publisher Future Plc promotes a slew of managers to new positions.

Future plc, the British publishing company responsible for Official Xbox Magazine and PlayStation Magazine, shuffled several new senior management positions within its Future Publishing Limited division.

Future's United Kingdom Managing Director Robert Price has been promoted to the new position of Chief Executive of Future UK and will report to Future Plc Chief Executive Officer Stevie Spring. Simon Wear, previously the Group Publishing Director, now serves as Chief Operating Officer for Future UK.

Stevie Spring stated, "We have introduced these two new roles to recognise the seniority at the helm of our UK business and to bring our top level management structure more in line with the broader based content organisations we now compete with. Both Robert and Simon have played a crucial part in the restructure and refocus of Future over the past year and I'm delighted to recognise their contribution in this way."

Below the executive ranks, Future has announced a number of appointments throughout its publishing groups. James Binns, Stuart Anderton and Peter Stothard have become Publishing Directors of the Games, Computing and Photography and Automotive Portfolios, respectively. Their predecessors, Publishers Matt Pierce (games), Kelly Corten (computing and photography) and Paul Sloggett (automotive) are now entitled Group Publishers. Mia Walter will oversee the publishing groups from her new role as Publishing Development Director. James Ashton is now Group Publisher of Games Digital, where he will manage Future's online properties Games Radar [http://gamesradar.com] and Computer and Video Games [http://computerandvideogames.com].

Robert Price commented, "As we continue to develop a cross-channel approach, rapidly bringing our print and online businesses together, it's vital that we take steps to keep our best people, while attracting the finest talent the industry has to offer.

"We are building a structure that delivers promotion opportunities for consistently excellent performers and I'm delighted to appoint James, Stuart and Peter to their new Publishing Director roles, which recognizes their outstanding performance and contribution in driving our business. Congratulations also to Matt, Kelly and Paul for their well-deserved moves to Group Publisher."
