New Dungeon Siege Movie Trailer

A promotional trailer has been released in support of In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uwe_boll#Critic_boxing_matches].

Based on the story of a man named Farmer, A Dungeon Siege Tale tells the tale of his attempts to rescue his wife and avenge his son, kidnapped and murdered respectively by the beast-like Krug, a race of warriors under the sway of the evil Gallian. Based on Gas Powered Games' action-RPG Leelee Sobieski [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Siege], all of whom should know better.

Boll is well known to most gamers for his unique and distinctive videogame-movie adaptations which include titles such as Alone in the Dark II [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369226/].

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is scheduled for release later this year. The new trailer can be viewed here [http://www.veoh.com/videos/v8018387kjKwTpj/].

You know, no matter what he does I find a way to love Ray Liotta's performance.

That, right there, quite nearly made my day. I have enjoyed ALL of these actors/actresses in a variety of roles, yet no part of me can believe that all of them together could possibly outweigh the force which is Uwe Boll.

I feel exactly the same way. Ray Liotta is a great actor, Jason Statham is a potentially huge force in the action hero category, John Rhys-Davies and Ron Perlman are both widely-recognized and well-respected, and Burt Reynolds is the Burt. None of these guys should be so desperate for work that they'll take whatever's thrown at them, so how is that all of them ended up in the same Uwe Boll movie?

Full disclosure: I thought Dungeon Siege sucked and I couldn't bring myself to even bother finishing it (a rare thing for me), but even without that bias I think the trailer is very strong evidence that this movie is going to skip "unremarkable" and move straight into "oh my god this is so bad" territory.

No no no no no no no no!
Dungeon Siege was one of my first proper games and it holds a very special place in my heart.
There has never been a good video game movie, why do they keep tainting the legacy of these games.
