Wii Update Upgrades Wii Channels

A new Wii firmware upgrade offers new ways to search the Wii Shop for games and receive weather and news updates on the Wii menu.

The latest Wii firmware upgrade has installed a cornucopia of new features to the various Wii Channels and has reorganized the Wii Shop channel.

Changes include:

Wii Channels
[ul]
[li]Digital Clock on the Wii Menu at the bottom of the screen[/li]
[li]Forecast Channel displays current weather on Wii Menu[/li]
[li]News Channel can now show two scrolling headlines at a time in the Wii Menu, three when you click on the button[/li]
[li]Message Board now has the Today's Accomplishments message as a new white message[/li]
[li]Address Book entries can now be shifted around using A+B but only to empty spaces[/li]
[li]The calendar in Message Board no longer shows Today's Accomplishments, only days as having messages[/li]
[li]Today's Accomplishments in Message Boards includes the names of people to whom messages were sent to[/li]

Wii Shop Channel
[ul]
[li]New Welcome screen detailing four recommended titles and their cost. The title bar can be clicked on to bring up a list of 20 recommended games.[/li]
[li]Titles You've Downloaded moved to the main shop menu[/li]
[li]Popular Titles (two pages of ten titles)[/li]
[li]Search for a title which can use partial names[/li]
[li]Search by Category[/li]
[li]System shows the different systems and how many titles have been released under each[/li]
[li]Publisher showing different publishers and amount of titles released by each[/li]
[li]Genre listings[/li]
[/ul]
