A PS3 on Every Desk

In an effort to expand the PS3's install base, Sony is making new friends in the business world. New Rules for a New IT World will showcase ways to use the PS3 that don't involve shooting aliens at the upcoming Office 2.0 Conference

Citing the PS3's cell processor, Blu-ray drive and ability to run Linux and Firefox, Ismeal Galimi, Producer of the Office 2.0 Conference, said, "We are always looking for innovative devices that enable office productivity."

To prove the point, PS3 systems will be used at the conference to drive the flat panel displays showing the conference's agenda and special announcements, fetching pages served from the web over a WiFi network.

The Office 2.0 Conference is taking place from September 5-7 in San Francisco. More information on the conference can be found here [http://o2con.com/index.jspa].

Right......and how is a solid laptop not better?

by ignoring the average consumer/gamer Sony is setting the PS3 up for failure....they should have launched at 400-450 taken 3-5 billion debt head on and make it all back in less that 3 years.

*eltrohc* It took every once of control I could muster to not write, "Sony decides that if gamers won't buy the PS3, companies might just be dumb enough to think a PS3 is a better investment than a $300 desktop."
