Spike Announces 2007 Video Game Award Nominees
Testosterone-TV network Spike [http://www.ifilm.com/network/spike]has announced the nominees for this year's installment of its annual Video Game Awards program.
At the top of the list are Wii Sports [http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture/home.html]and The Orange Box. Addictive games that were not fueled by Dew were presumably excluded from selection process.
Spike, formerly known as The Nashville Network, TNN, The National Network and The New TNN, programs primarily for the "young adult male" demographic, focusing heavily on Ultimate Fighting mixed martial arts, professional wrestling, MXC [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MXC]and other machismo-centric entertainment. Spike is currently owned by Viacom as part of MTV Networks.
A full list of nominees for the 2007 Spike Video Game Awards, as well as trailers and a member list of the VGA Advisory Council are available at the VGA 2007 website [http://www.ifilm.com/show/23733].
