Russian-Language World of Warcraft on the Way

The Blizzard [http://www.worldofwarcraft.com]announced today that a fully localized Russian version of the game will be released in 2008.

The company is putting together a Russian-speaking team at its European offices, which will be responsible for localization, quality assurance, community relations, and 24/7 native-language in-game, offline and customer support. A new Russian World of Warcraft website is also being created to support the move into the country.

"Considering the scale and enthusiasm of the Russian community, we recognized that offering a dedicated Russian-language version of World of Warcraft was the next important step for the game in Europe," said Blizzard President Mike Morhaime. "We're looking forward to providing an even more accessible gameplay experience to current and future players."

The Russian translation will mark the fifth native-language version of World of Warcraft, following the English, French, German and Spanish versions. Further details on migration plans for existing Russian users will be made available closer to release.
