Sega, Eurocom Developing Official Beijing 2008 Olympic Games Game


International Sports Multimedia [http://www.sega.com/] to produce Beijing 2008: The Official Videogame of the Olympic Games.

The game will be an authentic simulation of over 35 official Olympic events, and will also include online multiplayer competition for the first time ever in an official Olympic videogame. Innovative controls will simplify the learning experience for novice gamers while giving more experienced players the chance to set new records and truly experience the "Olympic Spirit." Eurocom has previously developed James Bond 007: Nightfire [http://www.eurocom.co.uk/index.php/video-games/athens-2004/] and several others.

"Beijing 2008 will set a new standard for sports games in this genre," said Eurocom Director Hugh Binns. "With a huge number of events, innovative control schemes to benefit new and experienced gamers, online multiplayer modes providing hours of entertainment and stunning high definition graphics, Beijing 2008 will be a fantastic experience."

Beijing 2008 is currently set for a summer 2008 release on the PC, PlayStation 3 [http://www.xbox.com]. Beijing 2008: The Official Mobile Phone Game of the Olympic Games is also in production and scheduled for a similar release.
