Dark Cloud Developer Sponsors Soccer Stadium
Japanese studio Level 5 has purchased the naming rights to a local soccer stadium.
Level 5, the developer of Dark Cloud and the Professor Layton series, is now the proud sponsor of the Japan Professional Football League team Avispa Fukuoka. Located in Hakata, Fukuoka, the new "Level 5 Stadium" will cost the company $287,000 a year for the next three years, starting March 1 and ending February 28, 2011.
Fukuoka mayor Hiroshi Yoshida said, "I'm very happy about Level 5's decision. Fukuoka's position in the gaming industry is rising every year. The involvement of the youth is increasing. The meaning of this naming rights is that Fukuoka is putting greater effort in the gaming world, and this is a symbol of that."
